Colorado Elk Hunting – Rugged, Real, and Rewarding
There’s nothing quite like Colorado elk hunting in the high country. At Loco Mountain Ranch, we take you above 9,000 feet into remote alpine basins where trophy bulls roam. Our terrain is steep, raw, and exactly where big elk want to be — especially during the rut. For hunters who are serious about pursuing mature bulls in challenging conditions, our guided elk hunts are the real deal.
Unlike lower elevation hunts, this is a high-altitude country that requires stamina, preparation, and grit. But the payoff is big — incredible scenery, fewer crowds, and bulls that rarely see human pressure. Our team of seasoned guides ensures your Colorado guided elk hunt is not only successful but safe, well-planned, and unforgettable.
Whether you're a seasoned hunter looking for your next adventure or someone aiming to take their first bull elk, these hunts are built around you. We limit bookings to maintain quality and preserve our herds, making every hunt more personal and impactful.

Many outfitters claim to offer “backcountry” or “remote” hunts — but few deliver the kind of access and game quality you’ll find at Loco Mountain Outfitters. We handle every detail — from scouting to camp setup and tracking — so you can focus on the hunt. If your goal is to get off the beaten path and pursue elk in their most natural habitat, these guided elk hunts are your best choice.
